In this time, I will tell you about my experience while doing Nature Field Trip by trakking on Toraja Regency.
On Monday - Wednesday, October 21st – 23rd 2019, all
students of Tour & Travel Business Study Program 3rd semester class B go to
Toraja Regency. We go for 3D2N in Nature Field Trip Program.
1st day, on
Monday, October 21st 2019, we go to Toraja Regency. In this Nature Field Trip,
we were accompanied by our beloved advisor, Sir Matius, Sir Yahya and Ma’am
Rosmila. The first activity carried out was gathering on Orange Building at
Makassar Tourism Polytechnic for attend and distribution of id card and luggage
tags by tour leader.
After that, we got on the
bus and start the guiding. We lunch at
Kupa Beach Restaurant on Barru Regency. After lunch, we continue the trip to
Bambapuang on Enrekang Regency. In Bambapuang we rested, enjoying the view of Erotic
Mountain while drinking tea and eating fried bananas. After that, we heading to
Toraja Regency. After arriving at
the border of Enrekang Regency and Tana Toraja Regency, we stopped for a moment
to take pictures at the border between Enrekang Regency and Tana Toraja
Regency.
And then, we continued our trip to Indra Toraja Hotel in Rantepao,
North Toraja Regency. After arrive at
Indra Toraja Hotel, we check in and prepare for dinner. After gathering, we walked to Ayam Penyet Ria
restaurant for dinner. After dinner, Advisor and Tour Leader evaluate all
activities on the first day. After evaluation, we returned to Indra Toraja Hotel
for rest and sleep to continue activities the next day.
2nd
day, on Tuesday, October 22nd, 2019, all participants prepare for breakfast at
hotel. After breakfast, we gathered and took a picture together before starting
the activity.
After that, we got on the bus to Timenbayo. On the way to
Timenbayo, we saw many Torajanese people and saw their traditional houses. We start walking from
Timenbayo to Mentirotiku restaurant. On
the way, we saw many traditional houses of Tongkonan and the daily activities
of the Toraja people. We passed the rice fields and saw a very beautiful natural
scenery.
After arrive at Mentirotiku
Restaurant, we listened to a little explanation about a typical Toraja food
called Pa'piong and after that we had lunch. After lunch, we continue the
trip to Lempo and Bori. There we saw the
making of a traditional house of Tongkonan, making of Toraja carving, Tedong
Bonga and many coffee trees. after that, we heading to
Erong Lombok. There we saw many skulls of Toraja people.
From Erong Lombok, we
heading to Todi, to see the Toraja weaving and shop souvenirs. After that, we
retuned to the hotel to prepare for dinner. We had dinner at one of the best
cafe in Toraja Regency, Aras Cafe. After dinner, we took a picture and sing
together. After that, we returned to the hotel to rest and sleep.
3rd day, on October 23rd, 2019, we
had breakfast and prepared to return to Makassar. We got on the bus and we go
to the Toraja coffee making. There we
explained about the types of coffee and more about coffee. After that, we
heading to Lakipadada Statue on Makale Roundabout, Tana Toraja Regency.
After
that, we go to Bambapuang in Enrekang Regency. From Bambapuang, we go to Teras
Empang Restaurant for lunch. After lunch, we go to traditional houses of
Buginese at Barru Regency. After listening to an explanation of the traditional
Bugis house, we go to Suka-Suka Restaurant in Maros Regency for dinner. After
dinner, we heading to Makassar Tourism Polytechnic.
That was my experience during 3D2N Nature Field Trip
in Toraja Regency. This is one of the best and most memorable field trip. And
this is also the last field trip before internship and parting with classmates
for 6 months.
